Sacraments

Students who are not Catholic have always been a part of the student population in Catholic schools, sometimes a significant part, and are always welcomed and valued here at 果冻传媒. In order to become fully initiated into the Catholic Church, we receive the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, Reconciliation and Eucharist, and these sacraments are open to any who desire to commit themselves to the journey of initiation.

The Sacramental programme is run through the Parish but is supported by the school through its teaching staff, who assist with catechesis, and teaching programmes that focus on the meaning, symbolism and gospel stories that, at their heart, are sacramental. Although the principal faith sharing is passed on by parents, the parish runs a four week programme for each of the sacraments of Confirmation, Reconciliation and Eucharist at our Sunday 10am Mass where the children join groups to discuss and share their ideas on faith. These sacraments are offered in Years 2, 3 and 4 respectively but parents are able to judge the readiness of their children far better than anyone else and as such, there is no set rule that they are received in these years. Baptism is always available as a first stop on the sacramental journey and the school will always support people, child or adult, through this process.

Parent information and enrolment evenings are offered each year and are advertised through the Parish and the College. Alternatively, the Parish office can provide any information you may require on the reception of the sacraments.
